God in the Cooking Pot

A reference was made tonight at the On-fire rallies that just kinda stuck with me as I left. Tony was comparing our lives to that of a cooking pot. We put in our own ingredients to the pot. Have a base of school. Add a little sports. Maybe some clubs. Put in some church. Some friends. A cup of friends. And then sprinkle some God in with it. After the ingredients are put in, we expect the impure toxins to evaporate as we turn the heat up, just as any other toxins would do at the boiling point. But what we don't realize is that God is not an ingredient of our life, He IS our life. We can't treat our Father as just another ingredient of our everyday lives. He's so much more than that!
